This special concert is a celebration of HPO's milestone 10th season.

​When Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 2016 under the auspices of Hastings Philharmonic Choir, their opening concert at The White Rock Theatre included these two magnificent pieces - Beethoven's final symphony (No 9), and a new work by local composer Phillip O'Meara, which was specially commissioned for the event.

Beethoven's Ninth Symphony was composed for orchestra, with choir and soprano, alto, tenor and bass soloists in the final movement. ​'No Man' was composed for orchestra, choir, and soprano and tenor soloists.
